Chandan, my team mate was happily ordering "Puri & alloo curry" until he saw me.Actually just yesterday we all got the reports of our "master health check" done at office premises only...and this dear fellow just had his direct ldl cholestrol at 195 ( while upto 100 is optimal value) and CRP values at 8.
To the newbies, CRP or C Reactive Protein is an "probability indicator" of any cardio vascular disease which may hit you,and its optimal value should be within 3, suppose if its value is 8, you have five time more chances of having heart attack then anyone else.
Chandan claims that he had "cough and cold" on the day his blood sample was taken, similar to another of my friend who dares to sue the agency (religare) for reporting misleading numbers for him. My frinds may have hundreds of excuses to prove that their medical report is wrong and they have been fit and healthy all the time. But the fact of the matter is, deep down their heart they also know what these numbers means and how they have arrived.
If these numbers are wrong & misleading for all of us, then how will we justify the "condolences" & "sudden demise" emails which we receive every other day for our young colleagues ??
Chandan or many of my frinds like him may realize it or not, but at least such health check have shown them the mirror, the mirror which clearly reflects all their past sins, the sins of eating all oily , spicy and unhealthy stuff.Or,by too much hard drinking and smoking because somebody someday gave this mantra of "work hard and party harder" and foolishly they believed him blindly.
I would like to thank my organization for organizing such camp because even in worst case, if it has created a havoc amongst people for few days, it has also been successful in bringing awareness amongst the most vulnarable community to diseases ,i.e us, the IT and corporate folks.
Lasly, my peice of advice is - be careful for your health, go for "master health check" once in six months and follow the mantra "eat hard, work harder, burn hardest"
